Today I was looking at all the pictures I have pinned of kitchens on Pinterest, and I saw a theme several pictures. I've pinned a lot of kitchens that are green and white, which I've used as inspiration for my own kitchen, but then I saw another trend...Robin's Egg Blue!
You may remember when I posted this picture on my blog with a simple statement that I love this light. I'm still convinced that I can make something similar DIY if I find the right light. But do you notice the color? Robin's Egg Blue.
Then these two pictures, that amazingly are of two different kitchens, but they are so similar that I thought I had pinned pictures from the same kitchen. Again...Robin's Egg Blue... Plus, I absolutely love the color next to the white apron sinks. Perfection! I also love the faucets in these two kitchens.
Then I moved on through my pins and found this kitchen with the...wait for it... Robin's Egg Blue island. I love the look of the white marble on this island. Also, those microwaves are drawers! How cool is that?
Here's another Robin's Egg Blue kitchen island. This one has the stools that make it really inviting... The dark floors are a nice touch too.
Then finally, here's a kitchen with one of my favorite features--open shelves. This time the Robin's Egg Blue is on the walls instead of the cabinets, but look how it makes the white cupboards stand out. Everything looks so fresh and clean.
I think that's probably why Robin's Egg Blue is so popular in kitchens. It looks fresh and clean, especially when paired with white cabinets. Then add some dark wood floors to ground the room, and you have a nice contrast.
So would you paint anything in your kitchen Robin's Egg Blue?

2 Friends are talking!:
Robin's Egg Blue is my favorite, too...however, it is difficult to find that exact tone at the paint store...I have a garage full of quart samples that are just not right...Do you have any actual color suggestions? I'd love to hear which ones are gorgeous in person...
I actually don't have an actual color suggestion. The best way I've found to get the color you want is to find something that's the right shade, and then take it to the paint store and have them color match it I've only had that not work once...It was for the chocolate brown we have on an accent wall in our living room...it kept coming up with a red tinge to it...but otherwise it has always worked perfectly for me.
Hey! since all those colors that you have in your garage aren't right, why don't you try mixing them all together and see if they make the right color combined!!!
