For our wedding, I kind of put off losing weight because my dress fit perfectly when I bought it. Plus, I wasn't sure when we would be getting married, and then we did decide, there was only a few weeks to get ready so there wouldn't have been time to get my dress altered. Okay, that's not completely true...I didn't even really try to lose weight. I told myself I was trying to lose weight, but I wasn't keeping track of anything and I hadn't cut back on how much I was eating, even though I thought I had. That worked when I was younger--not so much now.
So now I'm wondering what I'm going to do about my dress, because I'm not going to stop losing weight now. I found something that's working--I've already lost 5 pounds--and I don't want to lose momentum. I guess I have a couple of options, and I'll have to look at the cost of both of them. I can get my dress altered and taken in or I can look online and find a used dress to wear... I'm leaning towards getting my dress altered, because I'd probably still have to have the other dress altered to fit. We'll have to see what is more cost effective.
Although... Getting a new dress would be pretty cool. Then the dress I got married in would remain special for just Jim and me. I mean there are a lot of brides now a days getting two dresses--one for the wedding and one for the reception. (I've also heard of brides who are getting more than two dresses, but I'm not going there.) I never thought I would be one of those brides. But then again, I also never thought I'd be a bride who lost 15 pounds or more between her wedding and her reception either!
I guess I have time to decide. I don't even know how much weight I'll lose before our reception celebration, but I do need to consider it, because it's going to be an added expect to our celebration. No matter what, I'll still be able to wear my shoes!
