Well as you can see, I've been playing with the look of my blog again! I hope you like it!

I liked the "old" new look, but I didn't feel it represented my true personality. It was feminine, which is me, and romantic, kind of, which is also me, but something wasn't quite right. Maybe because it was created using a free blogger background and banner image I found online; and after I had it all put together, I started finding the same background and various versions of my header on lots of other blogs. Once that happened, my "new" blog look didn't feel so special any longer.

So I set out to make something completely unique, something I wouldn't find anywhere else on the web. I'm pretty proud of the "new" new look, because it's my own design. I created it with images I found online. It took a long time, but I was able to work some magic with them and did exactly what I set out to do. And I'm pretty sure I won't find anything like it anywhere else on the web.

Finding the pieces to make it unique was an adventure. I looked through hundreds and hundreds of images online, searching for just the right ones. Would you believe that the background was made from a picture of a piece of fabric? Yep! It's true. I found a picture of a fabric sample that I really liked and decided to use it. Then I found an image that was of these green and white swirls. The final thing I found was a scrapbook frame that I found. It was the only image that I think might have been created the purpose I used it.

As you can see, I basically used only four images. There were a lot of other images I found that I could have used, but I didn't end up using them. I had to get creative with the four I decided to used, and the colors coordinated so well adding additional elements seemed unnecessary.
I had so much fun putting everything together. It took hours...I think I worked on it for about eight hours straight, but the end result was so worth the effort. At least, I think it was!
4 Friends are talking!:
Hi there! Nice to "meet" you. Lol : )
I LOVE it.... It is very beautiful, and has kind of an antique feel to it that I love. Great work!!
Thanks so much for being only the second person to see my blog and follow it. : )I really don't know what I'm doing yet. Lol
Oh...and I love your paintings. I love to paint, and have a site....but I am a photographer, and REALLY should just stick to that. In other words, my paintings are not anywhere near your talent. : )
Hi there! Nice to "meet" you too!
Thank you for the compliments. I'm glad you love my blog!!! I worked so hard on it.
You have a beautiful blog. It takes some time to get it going, but you write interesting posts and your photography is beautiful!!
I wish I could paint more. We don't have the space in our small little home to set up my easel and leave it. But eventually, I'll be able to do it again.
Your photography is beautiful You have a great eye for composition. I haven't seen your paintings, but I'm sure they're beautiful too.
Awww.... Thank you!!! You just made my whole day. : ) And I love your blog. It is one of the only ones I have read/seen that is really unique and....comfy. Haha Like a real person is behind it. : )
I wish I could paint more, too.... I have just started branching out and playing with the idea of water and the ocean, but living in Arizona...my inspiration limited, and is all from memory and pics I've shot. : ) I hope you can make more time, as your paintings are truly amazing. Are the landscapes from your area, or some other inspiration? My site is www.canvasbytara.com if you are ever bored. BUT I did warn you that I am NOT a painter. It is just a passion of mine.... Creating I suppose. : )
Thanks again for your compliments, I swear it really did make my day. :)
You're welcome, Tara! I'm glad I was able to make your day. I checked out your website, and you paint beautifully! I'm like you, with the exception of one art class, I haven't had any formal training. I think the best artists are the ones who paint because they have a passion for it.
Thank you so much for the nice comments about my blog! You made my day when I read them! That is exactly the feel I want my blog to have, so when you said it felt comfy, I was thrilled! I was so excited, I immediately told my husband.
I'm sorry I didn't respond to you sooner. I had another lupus flare, which kept me away from my computer. But your comment was soooo sweet, I wanted to make sure I got back on and responded as soon as I felt better! Thank you!!
