The reason I downloaded this pictures, was because of they used a china cabinet with a hutch in the bedroom. I just thought it was so unique and creative. I have a huge china cabinet in storage that could easily be painted a soft white and distressed... Of course, that would be for a future bedroom. It won't fit now!
Look at how HUGE this bedroom is!!! It has several sitting areas, and lots windows and a fireplace. Not thrilled with the light fixture, but I do like the high, vaulted ceilings. Again...an idea for the next bedroom if we build.
Nothing says romance like a canopy bed draped in gauzy fabric. We had a canopy bed in our room at the Gastonian when we got married. I would love a bed like this.
Love this mirror and the way it just leans against the wall. I have a mirror that is very ornate with a white crackle finish, but it is too short to lean against the wall. If I do, I can't see my whole body, which is hard to do considering that I'm only 5 feet tall!
I fell in love with the bedspread in this one. I also love the color. It's not white, which would actually work better for us, because we let Tia and Jasper up on our bed. I know...there are people who don't like pets in their beds, but we do. I also love the way the throw is just thrown on the bed and not neatly folded. It looks so inviting, like you can just curl up and pull the throw over you.
The French doors drew me to this one. I also like the bench at the foot of the bed. I keep going back and forth about the walls, but I do think they're cool. I just don't know if I'd like them in my room.
Brick walls are so sexy! I love the juxtaposition of the romantic, soft, white bed against the rough, hard brick wall. Again, do you see they've just thrown that pink throw on the bed...sooooo inviting!
Call me crazy, amid all the white beds that I love, I like this one too! The dark wood against the wait board and batten just looks right. I'm not thrilled with the little table in front of the bed. The color of it is wrong, and I think a nice padded bench would work better. Oh! notice how high the wainscot is? LOVE it!
| I think this is from Kim's master bedroom at My Domestic Bliss |
I think every woman needs a chaise. I've never had one, but there was one in our room at the Gastonian that was soooo nice. I just wish it had had a little table next to it like this one does. Oh well...someday...
| This one is definitely Kim's bedroom from My Domestic Bliss |
I like the colors in this room. I've really been getting into the soft greens lately. And look at the creative way they made a headboard. It's not actually a headboard at all, but trimmed out bead board. So crisp looking. Of course, I love the white comforter, but I tried a white one in my apartment, and it did NOT stay white, so that's out of the question.
I like the mirrors they placed over the night stands in this picture. I think it would make the room look a lot larger. I can't help but think that they don't really use this room though, because the night stands are so far away from the bed. You would practically have to get out of bed to reach a glass of water in the middle of the night.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this headboard. It's the only reason I downloaded this picture. I would die to have that headboard... I'm not sure if Jim would go for it, but it is soooo gorgeous. I want it!!!
Look at how romantic all of this looks together. Gauzy curtains, beautiful chandelier, antique armoire, and an old window...and everything is white... pure romance.
Here's the mirror I think I need to go with that headboard that I love! I'm a sucker for mirrors leaned against the wall...I'm not quite sure why, but I think they're cool.
Okay... Remember the first large bedroom I showed you? Well, I like this one even better. I think i would have French doors going out onto a patio, but this might be on a second story. And look! TWO chandeliers. I'd probably move the table under the far one. Otherwise, Jim would probably bump his head on it. I could see us having our morning coffee there though. I love the cozy chairs by the fireplace. We had two fireplaces in our room at the Gastonian, and it was soooo romantic. Oh, and cute dogs too! Do you see them in the chair next to the fireplace?
Another canopy bed. I love the detail of this one. Wouldn't it be wonderful that the headboard I love had a canopy. But this one is very nice too. I love white beds. I was going to paint the bed I had in my apartment, but never got around to it... I still have it, so who knows, maybe someday I will.
So there are my bedroom inspiration pictures. Aren't they lovely? As always, if you know where the pictures came from, let me know so I can give them proper credit.
Don't forget to leave a comment and follow me! I love hearing from you!!
P.S. I found the credit for one of these bedrooms and have add it. Yeay for finding one!!!

8 Friends are talking!:
Swooning over these pictures...they're one lovelier than the other! So romantic and old-fashioned, I love them!
I love them all, too.... So elegant! I am in LOVE with the last bedroom (with the puppies by the fire). Now THAT is a slice of heaven. You are right though, that second table needs to be moved. : ) Thanks for my daydreaming inspiration today.
Aren't they lovely? I swoon over them too, Ciccia!!
You're welcome, Tara! I'm glad you like them as much as I do. I'm sure the table was probably moved by the person who staged the photo, because I have a hard time believe they keep the table where it is all the time. It's not under the light and it's too close to that little sofa! Photo composition is usually different than real life!
I love them. Sadly DH is a bit boring with his tastes, so my big bedroom never looks dressed to me. One day!
My mother has just had the sad task of rearranging hers. Dad is in care as you know. She felt guilty and I told her to go and get the room of her dreams. She did, pink and cream shabby chic. She sleeps much better now. She said it feels like her room and not theirs. A positive move.
Our house wouldn't be decorated at all if it was left to Jim. He kind of leaves all the decorating to me. When I first moved in, I worried more about whether he'd like something or if he'd think it was too girlie. Now I don't worry about that so much. I decorate the way I like it, and so far he's liked everything.
I'm glad redecorating is a positive move. It's the circumstance behind it that is sad... Her room sounds lovely, and if she's sleeping better, that most definitely is a positive!
So much inspiration in one post Loribeth! Many thanks once again for featuring my room!
xoxo,
Kim
