Scratchy Throat

I think I might be coming down with a cold.  Last night I woke up with a bit of a scratchy throat, and now my nose is starting to run a bit. So, I'm going to keep this post short.

Chicken Soup

Jim just came back from the store with orange juice for me. That's my go-to drink whenever I don't feel well. I try so hard to avoid taking any kind of medicine and try to take care of myself with natural remedies... You know...hot tea, orange juice, chicken soup, that kind of thing.

Fresh OJ

When I was growing up, my mom used to make this wonderful cough medicine made with real peppermint oil, lemon juice and honey. When my brother and I were young she used more honey so it would taste better and we'd be better about taking it. As we got older, she cut back on the honey, which made the cough medicine stronger. I might need to mix up a batch of that cough medicine if I start to develop a cough.

Tia Curled up on the Sofa
But right now, I'm curled up on the sofa with my softest pj's, a soft pillow and a warm blanket.  I think maybe I'll watch a little TV and maybe read one of the books I downloaded to my nook.  Jim went to Burger Night at the club, so I can watch whatever I want.  I'm thinking maybe a romantic comedy might be nice.

So what do you do when you're not feeling well?  Any home remedies you want to share?

I hope you and your pets all get well asap! I use a lot of honey, lemon and cinnamon to maintain good health. Not had a cold since 2005. :)

For a long time, I was taking cinnamon supplements (less expensive than using cinnamon from my spice rack), and I don't remember getting as many colds then... I don't know why I stopped, but now that you've mentioned that you use cinnamon, I think I need to start taking them again.
