More curtain indecision

I'm still struggling with my curtain indecision. However, I did talk to Jim about it, and he's coming around to the idea. Of course, I have to compromise a bit--for now. The vertical blinds will remain up, but they're going to be softened by the curtains, and the mini-blinds are coming down.

This is how I envision the light curtains with dark shades.

Now I just have to decide what color curtains I want. Do I want dark or light colored curtains. I have to say, I'm starting to lean towards the light curtains.  The picture about if how I envision the light curtains with dark shades, but of course, the walls would be a nutmeg color and not blue. Still undecided.

How do I choose which is right for this room?

 I just think the light curtains would make the room look brighter, and then when I finally convince Jim that roman shades would look better, I can get the dark accent I think they'll need.

Of course, then I found this picture, and I think I'm in love with this look too.

I think this might be my favorite.
