It's been a while...

Inspiration for my bouquet
I know, I know... I haven't posted in a loooong time.  Things have been a little busy here.  Jim and I are both unemployed now, but that doesn't mean we aren't working.  I've been working on the wedding plans, and he's been working on the house.

Our Little House
He has some big plans for the house, and wasted the morning waiting for an inspector who didn't show, which means his permits will be delayed, which means starting all those plans has been delayed. He was not happy.  What does he have planned? Well, total tear off of the roof shingles and new shingles installed, a new covered front porch, a new side deck, complete tear off of the siding and new siding installed, insulation, a new water heater, a new electrical, outlets outside and inside, and finally, rearranging the kitchen. Phew! That's a huge punch list, and I promise to share before and after pictures, and who knows, maybe even some during pictures.

Here's the kicker... He wants to get it all done before we get married, which leads me to what I've been doing!!

We set the date!
Well, we finally set our wedding date!  We're getting married December 1st -- less than 50 days away!  We made the reservations for the B&B we're staying and where the ceremony will be. We reserved their Elopement Package, which was $1,099 for two nights stay, officiant, cake, bouquet, boutonniere, champagne toast, and rose petal turn down service. We've also hired a photographer! Oh, and I also upgraded my bouquet, so I can have something different from the other brides who've gotten married at our venue.

My Hairpiece that I made!
On top of all that, I've been working on a few DIY projects. I made my hairpiece. The one pictured is not the actual finished product, because I ended up tearing that one apart and starting over. This one was just too heavy and big. I also made a lace wrap to wear with my gown. That took 12 hours of hand sewing! But it is so worth it. I am so pleased with how it turned out and it looks gorgeous with my dress!

Omgoodness, you have been busy. Why do men always want to knock the house around before a big event? Stress reliever? LOL
Love that shawl, how clever you are!
Keep having fun.x

Yes, I've been very busy! I don't know why the always want to knock the house around before big events, but it seems to be pretty standard for them!

Thanks! The pictures do not do the shawl justice at all!!! So much prettier in person!

Thank you! I re-did it and made a it bit smaller because it was too heavy and kept pulling from my hair. But the new one is very similar!

Oh! Me too!! I looked at a lot of pictures of bouquets, and I kept going back to that one. I was so happy when I found out I'd be able to have one like it.
