My Yard Sale Find

A couple of weeks ago Jim and I went yard sailing... (hmmm... saling... sailing... oh well) and I found the most wonderful platter.  Isn't it lovely???  I couldn't pass it up--not when it was only fifty cents!  Of course, Jim wanted to know what attracted me to that particular platter.  But look at it!  It's the most beautiful creamy white with a delicate edge detail. Sure it has a little chip under the edge on the right, but you have to expect that when something is well used.

I still love this cupboard!
The moment I saw it, I could imagine a roasted chicken being served on it...or even cheese and crackers for guests when they visit.  I knew I had to have it.  It's one of those things. You know the feeling, the one where you know if you walk away and don't buy it that you'll regret it forever...  Besides, I knew exactly where I wanted to display it.

So I handed over my two quarters to lady (okay, I got the quarters from Jim because I didn't have any cash), and I carefully tucked it away in the truck to take home.  Once home, it was cleaned up and carefully put away to be lovingly gazed at until it was brought out to be used.

It really does look lovely where it sits waiting.  And that space needed a little something.  I'm so happy that I found it and brought it home...  It's the little things that make all the difference.

What things have you found that you knew you would regret passing up if you didn't bring them home?
