Slowly the transformation is happening. Last week we painted the living room, although we ended up changing the color of the accent wall. Once we had it painted, it looked terrible and we both hated it. We spent nearly two hours in Home Depot as they tried to get the color right. Finally, we gave up completely on that color and chose a completely different color, and that looks perfect. We both love the way the living room looks. It is warm and cozy, which is exactly the look that I was going for. I love the colors. Now I'm working on getting the room decorated. I want to take down all the blinds and replace them with curtains. The blinds are dated, and I don't see them in any of the rooms in the decorating magazines that I get.
As it turns out, we work very well together. Oh, there was the occasional irritable comment when I was in the way, but that's to be expected during the first project. I've now learned how Jim works on projects and how to stay out of his way, so the next painting project will go even more smoothly.
Speaking of the next painting project, I guess the next one we're going to tackle is the kitchen. Now that one is going to be difficult. Jim wants to take down the upper cabinets. I think only one needs to be removed, and that's the one above the stove because I want the stove slid down about 22 inches. We'll also need to get a new stove hood, because the one we have is too narrow.
Before I forget, let me tell you about the picture. This is a picture of the artwork we hung in the living room over the sofa. Jim did a fantastic job of laying out the grid so the pictures are all exactly one inch apart. It is exactly how I imagined it, and most importantly, Jim likes it too!
Well, now I have some more decorating to do! Boy, I'm having fun!!!
